Our Story
An Austin business grounded in community
Mari Ramirez is a staple in the Austin, TX business community. For over 20 years, she’s worked in public accounting, serving small and mid-sized businesses with financial metrics, budgeting, accounting, bookkeeping, tax planning, and achieving long-term growth.
Mari loves working with small businesses because of their impact on the community, something she’s invested in as well. In her own community, Mari is a frequent volunteer and has served on several nonprofit boards. She received the Humanitarian of The Year award from Texas A&M International University, served as Treasurer for both the Foundation for Learning and Youth Travel Education and the Gwenievere Mann Foundation, served as President of Georgetown Art Works, and has helped many organizations file for 501(c)3 status with the IRS.
Mari loves sharing her knowledge to empower business owners to succeed. She wrote a chapter on financial empowerment in “The Better Business Book, Volume 2,” and frequently speaks at events and panels for entrepreneurs. In addition to running Open Bookkeeping, Mari is mother of four with kids ranging from ages 5 to 24, and is one of the 10 founders of Lark & Owl Booksellers, the only indie bookstore in Williamson County.
